Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Account Officer to manage the company’s financial records, process payments, and ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws. The Account Officer will handle vendor management, invoicing, financial documentation, and liaise with external bodies, ensuring smooth and effective financial operations.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the effectiveness of the accounts payable process, including verifying documents, costs, approvals, and payments.
  • Calculate VAT, PAYE, WHT, Pension, and other taxes by Nigerian law.
  • Liaise with customers, vendors, bankers, consultants, and government bodies (e.g., FIRS/LIRS) for tax and financial data management.
  • Respond to information requests and resolve issues promptly.
  • Handle client queries regarding invoicing and follow up on bill submissions.
  • Conduct visits to clients when necessary.
  • Follow up on payments, ensuring timely and accurate bill settlements.
  • Provide documentation and support during internal audits.
  • Maintain organized records and ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions.
  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile financial data.
  • Manage invoices, ensuring payments are made according to company policies.



Requirements:

  • HND/BSc in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, vendor management, and Nigerian tax processes.
  • Experience with VAT, PAYE, WHT, and Pension calculations.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations and laws.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and data management systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and work under pressure.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to financial management.
