Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
• Prepare and submit financial reports
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards
• Provide financial guidance and support to management and other departments
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
• Ensure timely payment of taxes and other liabilities
• Manage and reconcile bank statements, including investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Prepare and submit tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, and other relevant taxes
• Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, tax consultants, and other financial stakeholders
• Provide training and support to other staff members on financial procedures and policies

Requirements:

• Minimum of HND or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a school or educational institution
• Proven experience with payroll management
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work unsupervised
