About Our Client:

Our Client, Kegosh Limited is a trading company, in the business of sales and distribution of cosmetics and general products in Lagos, Nigeria.


About the Role: Accountant

The Accountant will oversee the financial operations of Kegosh Ltd. and Eureka Petroleum, ensuring accurate management of daily transactions, real-time recording of sales and stock, and proper reporting systems. The role involves working closely with internal teams and an outsourced accountant to maintain financial transparency, compliance, and operational efficiency.


Report To: Office and Operations Manager with dotted lines to the Managing Director/CEO

Work Location: Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria

Mode of Engagement: Fully Onsite

Budget: 200,000 to 250,000 naira (the offer will be negotiated inline with qualifications and expertise)

Proposed Resumption Date upon selection: Monday 6th, January 2025


Responsibilities

  1. Manage and record daily business transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  2. Capture and track daily sales, particularly for cosmetics and general products.
  3. Ensure customer accounts are updated in real-time to reflect accurate balances.
  4. Liaise with the outsourced accountant to prepare and review financial reports.
  5. Monitor and ensure all stock levels are recorded in real-time for seamless inventory management.
  6. Supervise warehouse staff and oversee the delivery of goods to customers, ensuring accurate fulfillment.
  7. Ensure full compliance with internal financial processes and controls.
  8. Develop and maintain a timely, adequate reporting system to provide insights and updates to management.


Criteria for success in this role

  1. Maintain error-free daily transaction records and ensure timely reconciliation.
  2. Ensure customer accounts and inventory records are updated in real-time to reflect accurate financial data.
  3. Adhere to internal financial processes, regulatory standards, and audit requirements.
  4. Provide comprehensive and timely financial reports to management and the outsourced accountant.
  5. Use financial data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue growth.
  6. Accurately record stock levels, minimizing discrepancies and ensuring seamless inventory management.
  7. Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers, with minimal errors or delays.
  8. Collaborate with warehouse staff to maintain efficient operations and prevent losses or pilferages.
  9. Work efficiently with the outsourced accountant to align financial processes and reporting.
  10. Coordinate with other departments to streamline operations and resolve financial or operational issues.
  11. Quickly identify and resolve discrepancies in transactions, accounts, or stock records.
  12. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance financial and operational efficiency.


About You:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACA, ACCA) is an added advantage.

• Proven 3+yrs experience in accounting or finance, preferably in FMCGs, sales, distribution, or trading industries.


Ability to/Demonstrate:

• Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting and analytical tools.

• Strong knowledge of inventory management and reconciliation processes.

• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

• High level of integrity and accountability.
