Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers and journals.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Generate reports on financial performance, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Assist in developing annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor expenditures to ensure they align with the approved budget.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.
- Prepare and file tax returns, including VAT, income tax, and other statutory obligations.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and reports.
- Identify areas of risk and implement internal controls to enhance financial integrity.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
- Oversee payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, with strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Tally) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills to convey financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
- Familiarity with tax laws, including VAT, income tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Experience in preparing financial statements, managing budgets, and performing reconciliations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
- Teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and management.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and risk management practices.
- Adaptability to new technologies and willingness to learn industry-specific software.
