Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the collection of school fees and other revenues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and budget tracking.
- Manage the school's cash flow by monitoring cash balances, preparing bank reconciliations, and initiating necessary fund transfers.
- Oversee the school's budgeting process in collaboration with administrators and department heads, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines and constraints.
- Prepare financial reports, statements, and projections for the school administration, board of directors, and stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate information.
- Conduct periodic financial analysis to highlight key indicators, trends, and areas of concern, providing recommendations for improvement or cost-saving measures.
- Monitor and analyze financial transactions, identifying discrepancies, errors, or irregularities, and taking corrective action as needed.
- Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation and support to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Stay updated on relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations, and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
- Coordinate and facilitate the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely salary disbursements while maintaining payroll records and complying with tax and labor regulations.
- Process and review invoices, purchase orders, and expense reimbursements, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to policies and budgetary guidelines.
- Provide financial guidance to school administrators and staff, clarifying procedures, and assisting in budget planning and decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with the administrative team to develop and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure financial accountability.
- Assist in preparing and submitting financial reports required by government agencies, educational authorities, or funding organizations, ensuring compliance with deadlines and guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
- Adhere to ethical principles and professional standards in all financial operations.
Requirements:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
