Job Title: Food Technologist / State Coordinator
Location: Kaduna
Job Type: Full Time
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the implementation of the OPTINUP program and initiatives within the state.
Ensure alignment of program activities with state and national food processing objectives.
Monitor program progress and provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
Promote the adoption of advanced food processing technologies and operations excellence among the partner MSMEs.
Provide technical support and guidance on the implementation of technology solutions.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in food processing technology and recommend appropriate solutions.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards within the food processing sector.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including MSMEs, government agencies, industry partners, and other service providers.
Provide ongoing support and mentorship to local businesses to improve their operational efficiency and product quality
Collect and analyze data on program performance, market trends, and industry needs.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with food processing activities within the state.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field
Advanced degree (MSc Food Science, MSc. Food Technology, MBA, MSc. Project Management etc.) preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food processing, food technology, or a related field preferably within the agriculture or food nutrition sector in Nigeria.
Proven track record of successfully managing food systems and nutrition programs or projects.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.
Excellent project management, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in data collection and analysis.
Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
