Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our client company in the beauty retail industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various financial tasks including invoicing, banking, receivables follow-up, credit control, preparation of accounts, and budgeting. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of financial principles and excellent organizational skills.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Manage all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, reconciliations, and payments to suppliers.
- Monitor and reconcile stock levels with financial records, ensuring accurate inventory accounting and valuation.
- Assist in preparing the company’s annual budget, track expenditures, and prepare financial forecasts.
- Oversee day-to-day cash flow, ensuring sufficient funds for operational needs and managing working capital.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of VAT, income tax, and other statutory obligations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations.
- Support internal and external audit processes, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit queries.
- Analyze financial performance, identifying trends and making recommendations for cost control and revenue improvement.
- Maintain accurate financial data within accounting software and ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance preferably in the retail industry or related field.
- Professional accounting certification is a plus
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Familiarity with oil and gas industry financial practices and regulations
- Proven track record of accurate financial reporting and analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- In-depth knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices
- Understanding of oil and gas industry-specific accounting treatments (e.g., joint interest billing, revenue accounting)
- Knowledge of tax regulations relevant to the oil and gas industry
- Ability to interpret and apply accounting standards and regulations
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting in the oil and gas sector
- Familiarity with risk management and compliance in financial operations
- Proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis
- Experience with cost accounting and inventory management
- Skill in developing and maintaining financial controls and procedures
- Understanding of capital expenditure accounting and fixed asset management
Remuneration: NGN 250,000.00 - 280,000.00
