Android POS Developer

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop Android applications for mobile POS systems, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and performant.
• Collaborate with the hardware team to integrate Android applications with various POS devices, including barcode scanners, printers, and card readers.
• Implement payment gateway integrations, ensuring secure and efficient processing of transactions.
• Ensure the mobile app complies with industry standards and security best practices for handling sensitive financial data.
• Optimize app performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure a seamless user experience.
• Work with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to define new features and improve existing functionalities.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, following coding standards and best practices.
• Continuously improve the app by keeping up to date with Android development trends, libraries, and frameworks.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain high-quality code and system stability.
• Provide support for deployment and post-launch troubleshooting and maintenance.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in Android development with a strong portfolio of mobile applications ideally in the POS or financial services domain.
• Expertise in Java
• Familiarity with XML and Android SDK along with experience with Android Studio.
• Hands-on experience with integrating third-party libraries payment processing systems and hardware devices like printers barcode scanners and card readers.
• Understanding of POS systems and relevant security standards (e.g. PCI-DSS, SSL/TLS).
• Familiarity with database management systems such as SQLite, Realm, or Room Persistence Library.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating with backend systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality software.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
