Job Summary
We are looking to hire an Animal Health Adviser who will provide animal health and veterinary advisory services for the farm administrators, including feed and water checks, avian examinations, necropsy, blood and tissue sample collection, and water and feed sample collection to enhance eggs production, reduce losses, improve feed conversion, reduce feed wastage and maximize farm profits
- Minimum Qualification : HND
- Experience Level : Mid level
- Experience Length : 3 years
Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Monitor bird's health daily, including feed water intake, body weights and overall physical examination
- Collect blood and tissue samples when required for lab analyses
- Recommend feed rates, medication and vaccination for the birds
- Carry out variance analysis on actual production performance and shortlist the most likely causes for shortfalls
- Monitor the operating environment for widespread animal health events such as bird flu
- Coach and train staff on best practices in animal husbandry biosecurity, etc
- Prepare daily and weekly animal health surveillance reports
- Conduct QA/QC on feed received as they arrive at the farm.
- Monitor feed performance on site or with lab analyses and recommend feed with the most value. Propose mixing formula for in-house feeds
Requirements:
- Minimum of HND
- 2-3 years of experience in similar role
