We Are Hiring: Aquaculture Technicians (Tilapia Culture)

Aquatic Hub Afrique Network is seeking skilled Aquaculture Technicians with 2-5 years of hands-on experience in tilapia farming. If you are passionate about aquaculture and have practical experience in fish husbandry, water quality management, and farm operations, this opportunity is for you!

About the Role:

As an Aquaculture Technician, you will be responsible for the daily management of tilapia production systems, ensuring optimal fish health, growth, and farm efficiency. You will work closely with our technical team to maintain high industry standards in sustainable aquaculture production.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Oversee the daily care and feeding of tilapia in ponds and cages

✅ Monitor fish growth, health, and behavior while implementing biosecurity measures

✅ Conduct water quality tests and maintain optimal environmental conditions

✅ Assist in stocking, grading, harvesting, and post-harvest handling

✅ Operate and maintain aerators, pumps, and other aquaculture equipment

✅ Keep detailed records of farm activities, including stock inventory and health reports

✅ Support research trials and innovations in sustainable fish farming

✅ Ensure compliance with best aquaculture practices (BAP) and environmental regulations

Qualifications & Skills:

✔️ 2-5 years of experience in commercial tilapia farming

✔️ Knowledge of water quality management and fish disease control

✔️ Ability to operate and maintain aeration and filtration systems

✔️ Strong analytical skills for farm data recording and reporting

✔️ Physical fitness for farm work and willingness to work in an outdoor environment

✔️ Team player with strong communication and problem-solving abilities

? Location: Abeokuta, Ogun State with occasional travel across the country
