Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities
- Full Stack Development: Design and develop scalable, robust backend systems using Node.js or equivalent. Build and maintain front-end components using frameworks such as React or Next.js.
- Data Engineering & Management: Implement methods to improve data reliability, integrity, and scalability. Create data flows to connect operational systems to analytics and BI tools.
- Blockchain & Web3 Integration: Develop and integrate blockchain-based functionalities into our existing systems, leveraging your knowledge of smart contracts, decentralised storage, and DApps.
- API Development & Optimisation: Build and document secure and efficient RESTful APIs. Implement clean coding practices and improve the scalability of existing systems.
- System Architecture & Security: Contribute to designing and optimizing system architecture to ensure it aligns with the company’s long-term goals and user needs. Prioritise security and compliance in all coding practices.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements and deliver cohesive solutions. Provide guidance on best coding practices and mentor junior developers when necessary.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of full-stack development experience working with JavaScript frameworks like React, Next.js, and Node.js.
- 2+ years of experience in data engineering or managing structured/unstructured data. Strong knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and data warehousing techniques.
- Proven knowledge of blockchain technologies (Ethereum, Solidity, smart contracts) and experience in integrating Web3 tools.
- Proficiency in AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and experience in integrating machine learning models via APIs.
- Knowledge of blockchain technologies (e.g., Solidity, Ethereum, web3.js), with hands-on experience in smart contracts and DApp integration.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, scalable systems design, and API security best practices.
- Proficiency in API development, data modeling, and familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure like AWS or Heroku.
- Experience working in startup environments and with remote, distributed teams is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, along with a passion for digital transformation in Africa.
- High level of comfort with collaboration tools such as GitHub, Slack, and JIRA
