Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor the KHS or Krones bottle-washing machines (e.g., bottle washers, rinser, and sterilizer systems).
- Ensure that the machinery is functioning correctly, including adjusting settings for different bottle types and sizes.
- Troubleshoot minor issues with machinery to prevent delays or malfunctions.
- Ensure that bottles are thoroughly washed, rinsed, and sanitized to remove any residues (e.g., dirt, label glue, or prior contents).
- Apply appropriate cleaning agents and sterilizers to bottles while adhering to quality and safety standards.
- Inspect bottles post-wash for cleanliness, defects, or damage. Reject any bottles that don’t meet cleanliness standards.
- Ensure that the bottles are being cleaned to meet industry standards for hygiene and quality control.
- Regularly check the wash quality, water temperature, and chemical concentrations to ensure compliance with production requirements.
- Conduct periodic inspections and quality checks to identify potential contamination risks.
- Perform regular maintenance on the bottle-washing machines, including cleaning filters, removing debris, and lubricating moving parts.
- Assist in preventive maintenance activities to reduce the likelihood of equipment downtime.
- Report any equipment malfunctions to the maintenance team for repair.
- Record operational data such as wash cycles, maintenance logs, and bottle quality inspections.
- Monitor wash cycle times and adjust processes as needed to ensure efficient production.
- Ensure that all regulatory and safety documentation is up to date.
- Work closely with the filling and packaging teams to ensure a smooth transition from bottle washing to filling.
- Collaborate with quality control and production staff to address any issues that may arise with bottle cleanliness or production efficiency.
- Follow strict health and safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required (e.g., gloves, goggles, aprons) when handling chemicals or working near machinery.
Requirements:
- Experience operating industrial washing and cleaning equipment, specifically KHS or Krones machinery (or similar).
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues with equipment.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure bottles are properly cleaned, sanitized, and free from defects.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, standing or moving around for long periods.
- Effective communication skills to interact with other members of the production team, as well as report any issues or concerns.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or bottling plant, particularly in the beverage industry, is preferred.
