WhirlSpot Media is a Pan-African PR and integrated marketing agency focused on Africa, headquartered in Lagos. Our agency works with clients across various industries to enhance their reputation, drive growth, and create impactful narratives.


In this role, you will be pivotal in managing key client accounts, fostering strong relationships, and driving strategic business growth. You will take ownership of expanding our market presence, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring high client satisfaction.


Responsibilities

Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the PR and marketing sectors.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand our client base and market footprint.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of proposals, bids, and tenders for new projects.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships to enhance our market position and service offerings.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of sales strategies and processes, focusing on inbound tactics and lead conversion efficiency.
  • Own our account-based marketing (ABM) strategy from inception to execution to reporting.


Account Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for key accounts, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Proactively identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities to maximize account value.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of proposals, bids, and tenders for potential PR and Marketing projects and contracts.
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients, guiding their PR and marketing initiatives for optimal results.


Marketing and PR Initiatives:


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute impactful PR and marketing campaigns.
  • Develop comprehensive strategies to support lead generation and brand awareness.
  • Create compelling narratives and content to showcase client expertise and enhance visibility.
  • Identify new opportunities for brand growth through active monitoring of the market and understanding of customers and usage occasions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive PR strategies to enhance clients' brand reputation and thought leadership positioning.
  • Pitch stories to both Pan-African, national and local media to achieve high visibility for print, broadcast, Radio, TV and online media outlets.
  • Providing strategic advice/counsel to clients to aid their PR and wider marketing campaigns, developing industry, sector, and product-focused PR campaigns.


Events, Networking, and Community Growth:

  • Represent WhirlSpot Media at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Manage the company’s events program, including webinars, round tables, and conferences.
  • Develop innovative strategies to engage audiences and build communities around our brand.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the industry, including corporate prospects, and industry associations. 
  • Develop new and innovative strategies to engage the audience, build communities across platforms, and raise awareness of our brand and initiatives.
  • Developing a compelling corporate story to build and protect reputation, and stand out from competitors

Agency Operations:

  • Optimize internal processes to improve efficiency and productivity across departments.
  • Collaborate with the strategy team to drive strategic outcomes, including budget oversight and complex project management.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of proven experience in business development and account management, preferably within the PR, advertising, or marketing agency industry.
  • Proven track record of managing key accounts and driving growth.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field;
  • Strong storytelling ability and experience in creating engaging content.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Deep knowledge of the local business landscape in Nigeria and other African markets.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and marketing tools.
  • Experience developing content playbooks, editorial calendars, and content/social guidelines.
