The Business Development Manager will drive business growth, lead marketing and sales efforts, and explore new business opportunities. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong business acumen, a passion for sales and marketing, and a proven track record in business expansion, particularly in the hospitality or real estate sector


Job Description

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to increase revenue and market share.
  • Identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, and services.
  • Prepare and present business proposals, pitches, and reports to potential clients and partners.
  • Lead the sales team in identifying and acquiring new clients while maintaining relationships with existing clients to drive repeat business.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies, including digital marketing, social media, content marketing, and traditional marketing channels, to promote the company’s services.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for growth and development.
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with real estate agents, property owners, travel agencies, and other stakeholders to expand the company’s property portfolio and client base.
  • Negotiate and close business deals that align with the company's objectives.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
  • Actively seek feedback from clients to improve service offerings and address any concerns.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to enhance brand awareness and positioning in the market.
  • Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, and trade shows to promote the brand and generate new leads.
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance, providing regular reports on progress and suggesting improvements where necessary.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certification is an advantage.
  • 5 years experience in business development, sales, marketing, or a related field, preferably in the hospitality, real estate, or shortlet industry.
  • Strong understanding of the shortlet market in Nigeria and its dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CRM software and digital marketing tools.
