Our client in the oil and gas trading sector is looking to hire a Business Development manager. The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving business growth, identifying new market opportunities, and managing relationships with key stakeholders in the oil and gas trading industry. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the oil and gas sector, strong negotiation skills, and experience in business development within a trading or energy-focused company.
Key Responsibilities:
· Market Research and Analysis:
Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges within the oil and gas trading sector.
Monitor competitor activities and emerging market opportunities to position the company for growth.
· Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:
Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with potential clients, suppliers, and partners in the oil and gas industry.
Develop strategies to acquire new clients and increase market share in the trading business.
Manage and strengthen relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships.
· Business Strategy Development:
Collaborate with senior management to develop business strategies that align with the company’s goals and growth objectives.
Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including partnerships, joint ventures, and strategic alliances.
· Deal Structuring & Negotiation:
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients, suppliers, and partners to maximize profitability and ensure mutually beneficial deals.
Lead the structuring of oil and gas trading deals, ensuring that all regulatory and legal aspects are adhered to.
· Project Management:
Oversee the execution of trading projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
Coordinate with internal teams such as logistics, finance, and legal to ensure smooth operations.
· Risk Management:
Identify risks in the trading process and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and legal requirements.
· Financial Analysis & Reporting:
Work with the finance team to evaluate the financial performance of deals and provide insights on profitability.
Prepare regular reports for senior management on market trends, business development activities, and financial results.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree (MBA) is a plus.
· 3-4 years of experience in business development, preferably within the oil and gas trading industry.
· In-depth knowledge of the oil and gas industry, including key markets, products, and regulations.
· Proven track record of securing and managing high-value trading deals.
· Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
