Role Overview:
As an Account Manager for Nigeria, you will be pivotal in managing a portfolio of key accounts, fostering long-term relationships, and driving business development. Your role will involve overseeing account management, implementing strategic plans, and generating new business opportunities to support UPI’s growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
11. Lead Point of Contact: Act as the primary contact for all matters related to UPI’s accounts in South Africa.
12. Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with customers to ensure their satisfaction and loyalty.
13. Account Management: Oversee customer account management, including negotiating contracts and agreements to maximize profitability.
14. Partner Strategy: Implement strategies to support market development plans and drive incremental revenue, creating value for acquirers and issuers.
15. Strategic Planning: Contribute to developing strategic business plans, providing market intelligence, and implementing specific actions.
16. Business Development: Expand UnionPay card acceptance across new merchant segments and execute marketing programs to drive usage.
17. Performance Tracking: Clearly communicate progress on initiatives to internal and external stakeholders, and track key account metrics such as sales results and forecasts.
18. Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on account status and performance.
19. Collaboration: Work closely with cross functional teams to identify and grow opportunities within the territory.
20. Client Support: Assist with challenging client requests and issue escalations as needed.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in account management, business development, or a related role within the financial services or payments industry.
• Strong understanding of the Nigerian market and its regulatory landscape.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to develop and execute strategic business plans.
• Proven track record in expanding business and driving sales.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to forecast and track key metrics.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
