Position Overview:  We are seeking an exceptional and visionary Business Development Manager to lead our growth initiatives, focusing on revenue generation, strategic partnerships, and market expansion. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the hospitality industry, particularly within the Abuja market, and will be instrumental in shaping the future of our hotel’s business. This role demands a strong blend of strategic thinking, leadership, and hands-on experience in business development and hospitality marketing. Candidates from Lagos are also welcome.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. Strategic Market Expansion: Develop and execute strategic initiatives to identify new markets and business opportunities to enhance the hotel’s market presence.
  2. Client Acquisition & Retention: Build and nurture lasting relationships with high-profile clients, corporate partners, and travel agencies to increase bookings and repeat business.
  3. Revenue Growth: Drive the achievement of revenue targets through the development and execution of innovative sales and marketing strategies tailored to high-end clientele.
  4. Contract Negotiation: Lead high-value contract negotiations with corporate clients, suppliers, and strategic partners to optimize profits and service delivery.
  5. Market & Competitive Analysis: Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to position the hotel ahead of the curve.
  6. Brand Enhancement & Visibility: Collaborate with the marketing team to elevate the hotel’s brand identity through tailored campaigns, PR initiatives, and digital marketing efforts.
  7. Leadership & Team Development: Lead and inspire a high-performing business development team, setting clear objectives, mentoring, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  8. Client Proposals & Presentations: Develop and present compelling business proposals and service presentations to secure new business and partnerships.
  9. Networking & Partnerships: Attend and represent the hotel at industry events, conferences, and meetings, building a strong network of potential clients and collaborators.
  10. Customer Experience Optimization: Collaborate with the operations team to gather client feedback and enhance the guest experience, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.


Performance Metrics (KPIs):


  • Achievement of quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Growth in market share and client base.
  • Success in establishing long-term partnerships with corporate clients and agencies.
  • Positive client feedback and repeat business.
  • Effectiveness of sales and marketing campaigns in increasing brand visibility.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Hospitality Management from a respected institution; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the hospitality sector, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of driving business development and revenue growth in the hospitality industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Abuja hospitality market, including key stakeholders and market trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing and developing teams.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing strategies and tools is an advantage.
  • Innovative, solution-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to achieving business goals.
  • Acumen in digital marketing strategies and tools will be an added advantage.
