Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy for the renewable energy division.
- Identify emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities within the renewable energy sector.
- Conduct market research and feasibility studies to assess the viability of potential projects and business ventures.
- Generate leads, identify potential customers, and secure contracts for renewable energy projects.
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline to achieve or exceed revenue targets.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector partners, suppliers and customers.
- Negotiate terms and agreements with partners, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of renewable energy projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget while meeting quality and regulatory standards.
- Manage risk assessment and mitigation strategies for projects and partnerships.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to renewable energy projects.
- Advocate for and implement sustainable practices within the organization and in client engagements.
- Lead and mentor associates involved in renewable energy initiatives.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
- Develop detailed reports and presentations on project progress, market trends and financial performance.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of renewable energy technologies particularly solar.
- Strong understanding of financial modelling, contracts, and regulatory frameworks in the renewable energy sector.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement and negotiations.
- Proficiency in managing large-scale renewable energy projects with complex timelines and budgets.
- Ability to analyze market trends, financial data, and technical specifications to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong leadership and team management skills to drive initiatives and inspire collaboration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- MBA or advanced degree in a related field is a plus.
- 6+ years of experience in business development, project management, or sales in the renewable energy sector.
- Proven track record of securing and managing renewable energy projects.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project) and CRM software.
- Certifications in renewable energy (e.g., Solar Energy Certification, PMP) are advantageous.
