Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Strategy Development and Execution:
- Design and implement a business development strategy that aligns with the firm’s 2025 target revenue.
- Identify key sectors and jurisdictions for growth, focusing on B2B and B2C client acquisition.
- Collaborate with Partners to develop short- & long-term plans for market penetration, client retention, and competitive positioning.
Client and Market Development:
- Identify & build relationships with decision-makers in businesses, particularly in Nigeria & affiliated jurisdictions.
- Develop a pipeline of high-value transactions, ensuring alignment with the firm’s target market.
- Utilize data-driven market research to uncover emerging trends and opportunities in Corporate, Commercial, Compliance, Taxation, and Litigation services.
Lead Generation and Sales Enablement:
- Create specialized marketing materials, including email campaigns, presentations, and thought leadership content, tailored to targeted clients.
- Develop and oversee a robust CRM system to track leads, monitor clients acquisition progress, and measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
- Leverage networking events, professional forums, and digital platforms to generate qualified leads.
Partnership Management:
- Establish strategic alliances with complementary organizations to drive mutual growth.
- Manage relationships with referral partners, including accountants, consultants, and other professional service providers.
- Lead negotiations for joint ventures and collaborations that align with the firm’s goals.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Develop and monitor KPIs for all business development initiatives, ensuring alignment with the firm’s objectives.
- Provide regular reports to the Executive Team, highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities.
- Implement corrective measures to address underperformance and optimize strategies.
Team Collaboration:
- Partner with department heads to develop tailored service offerings for target industries.
- Train and mentor junior team members to build a high-performing business development team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence within the business development unit.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Law, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in business development, preferably in legal, financial, or professional services.
- Expertise: Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and driving large-scale transactions.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with experience influencing senior executives.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and data analysis for sales tracking and reporting.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactically.
