As we launch our product to the wider market, we are looking for a driven and dynamic Business Development & Partnerships Lead to join our journey and play a key role in our success.
Role Overview
As a Business Development & Partnerships Lead, you will be responsible for driving sales and expanding our market presence within Nigeria’s banking ecosystem. You will leverage your expertise in software sales, initiative, and deep understanding of the industry, with initial focus on microfinance institutions and banks (MFIs & MFBs) to secure new contracts and build long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with MFBs/MFIs, commercial banks, fintech companies, and other financial institutions
- Own the full sales cycle from prospecting to pitching to closing including
- Developing and executing strategic sales plans to meet and exceed revenue targets
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor
- Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of leads and potential customers
- Active account management to identify cross selling opportunities
- Presenting and demonstrating our banking software solutions effectively to potential customers and partners
- Negotiating contracts and closing deals, ensuring customer satisfaction
- Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with the technical team to gain in-depth knowledge of our products and services
- Represent the company at industry events and where relevant grow the company’s public profile
- Contribute to the creation of necessary business development material and resources for consumption by the prospective customers
- Identify opportunities for partnerships with peers and other players which align with the company’s strategic priorities
- Identify the relevant CRM and other tools for internal use and establish the necessary internal guides for future hires in your team
Who You Are
- Proven track record of success in sales, ideally within a startup, software company, or fintech, ideally with 4 - 5 years of B2B sales experience
- Self-starter with initiative, willing to dive into technical details to understand the product.
- Familiarity with Nigeria’s banking and fintech ecosystem and existing industry networks.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering value to clients and the team.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a fast-paced, collaborative team environment along with problem solving skills.
