Erfenis Publishing is an audiobook-first publisher, our mission is to "tell Africa's story". We are a pioneer in audiobook publishing in Nigeria.

The Role

We are seeking a driven and passionate Business Development/Sales Manager to expand our audiobook reach and revenue. You will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities within the audiobook market, building relationships with key partners, and driving sales growth. This role requires a deep understanding of the book publishing landscape, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in sales.

  • Develop and execute sales strategies: Create and implement comprehensive sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities: Research and target potential clients (e.g. authors, rightsholder, print publishers) and develop proposals tailored to their needs.
  • Build and manage relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in the book publishing industry.
  • Negotiate and close deals: Secure favorable terms and conditions for audiobook distribution and licensing agreements.
  • Sales reporting and analysis: Track sales performance, analyze data, and provide regular reports to management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams: Work closely with marketing, production, and editorial teams to ensure successful audiobook launches and promotions.
  • Attend industry events: Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, and other relevant events to network and generate leads.

Ideal Profile

  • Proven sales experience: 1.5+ years of experience in sales, preferably within the publishing or media industry, with a focus on book publishing.
  • Knowledge of the book publishing market: Strong understanding of book production, distribution, and consumption trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to build rapport, effectively present ideas, and negotiate with clients.
  • Degree or Higher Diploma in Business, Marketing, Sales or a related field.
