Job Summary

The Cashier in the Finance Department is responsible for maintaining, processing, and verifying records related to payments and accounts status. This role requires a high level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail to ensure that financial transactions are handled efficiently and securely.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process payments (cash, credit, and checks) from customers and clients.
  • Issue receipts, refunds, and credits to customers as needed.
  • Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and promptly in the financial system.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all financial transactions.
  • Update account status regularly, ensuring that all records are current and accurate.
  • Organize and file financial documents for easy retrieval and audit purposes.
  • Verify the accuracy of payment information and account balances.
  • Reconcile cash drawers and account discrepancies at the end of each day.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports to the Head of Cashier.
  • Address customer inquiries regarding payments and account statuses.
  • Provide excellent customer service, resolving any payment issues or discrepancies promptly and professionally.
  • Assist customers with understanding their account balances and payment options.
  • Adhere to all financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of all financial data and transactions.
  • Report any suspicious activities or discrepancies to the Head of Cashier immediately.


Requirements:

  • BSc/HND or equivalent In Accounting, Business administration, or any Related Field. Additional certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a cashier or in a similar role.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in using financial software and MS Office Suite (particularly Excel).
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle transactions securely and confidentially.
