What to Expect:
- Oversee daily operations of the diagnostic lab, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Recruit, train, and supervise lab personnel, including radiologists, technicians, and administrative staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure high standards of customer service by addressing patient and physician inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Implement patient satisfaction initiatives and monitor feedback to improve services.
- Prepare and manage the lab’s budget, including monitoring expenditures and revenues.
- Analyze financial reports to identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
- Establish and maintain quality control measures to ensure accuracy and reliability of lab results
- Ensure the diagnostic lab is maintained in a clean, safe, and efficient manner.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with medical staff and other departments to coordinate services and enhance patient care.
- Maintain effective communication with external stakeholders, including suppliers and regulatory agencies.
- Contribute to the development of strategic plans for the lab, including service expansion and market positioning.
- Monitor industry trends and make recommendations for service offerings that align with market demands.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to lab operations.
Essential Qualifications, Experience And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Life Sciences).
- A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., MBA, MHA) is preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within a healthcare or diagnostic lab setting.
- Proven track record of managing lab operations and staff effectively.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in laboratory information systems and financial management tools.
- This position may require occasional evening or weekend work depending on lab operations and staffing needs. The Centre Head will be expected to be on-site regularly to oversee operations and staff.
