Job Description: Live-In Chef
We are seeking an experienced Live-In Chef to manage all aspects of the kitchen in a private residence. The ideal candidate must have a passion for cooking, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prepare a variety of healthy and delicious meals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare well-balanced and nutritious continental and African dishes daily.
- Ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, store, fridge, and dining area.
- Take full responsibility for the kitchen, including inventory management and stock control.
- Serve meals properly and professionally.
- Understand children's needs and prepare meals accordingly.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in food preparation and service areas.
- Be proactive in planning and sourcing ingredients.
- Ensure kitchen supplies are well-stocked and take regular inventory.
- Work efficiently while maintaining a high level of timeliness.
- Follow household meal schedules and accommodate dietary preferences.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a chef, preferably experience also in private residences.
- Strong knowledge of continental and African cuisine.
- Ability to cook healthy and delicious meals.
- Experience managing a kitchen, store, fridge, and dining area.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive and responsible approach to work.
- Good understanding of children’s food preferences and nutrition.
- Must have a minimum qualification of WAEC.
- Must provide references.
- Must be willing to live in with time off every two weeks during the weekends.
