Job Summary
An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and deliver well - prepared meals. He/she must be adept at moving around the kitchen and apt in multi- tasking. The ideal candidates are required to have experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Prepare meals according to dietary needs
- Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients.
- Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish poultry, and other foods as requested
- Present, garnish, and arrange final dishes
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling of utensils, equipment and dishes
- Handle, store, and manage ingredients and food
- Ensure ingredients are fresh
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
- Be willing to learn new recipes
- Monitor and manage stock
- Always wear the assigned uniform
- Perform ad hoc duties that may be assigned.
Requirements:
- Able to work days, evenings, and/or weekends/on short notice
- Clean, with good hygiene habits

Desired Skills:
- Candidate must have undergone catering courses, (diploma/ degree) with a minimum of 4 - 5 years experience as a professional Chef.
- The desired candidate must be in absolute control of all the kitchen affairs.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- The ideal candidate must be organized and pay attention to details.
- Must maintain an impeccable personal hygiene as well as high work and safety standards.
- An excellent food presentation skill is highly required.
- The candidate needs to be able to work with a variety of people and have coping skills to handle difficult personalities.
- Must be able to delegate many kitchen tasks simultaneously.
- The chef must have good knowledge of Nigerian and continental meal preparation.
