Position Overview:
As the Chief Business Development Officer, you will play a pivotal role in leading the company’s growth initiatives, formulating strategic partnerships, and driving revenue generation. Reporting to the CEO, the CBDO will shape and execute a robust business development strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and vision. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the fintech or financial services industry, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a proven track record in business development, partnerships, and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement the company’s business development strategy in alignment with corporate goals.
- Identify new market opportunities, emerging trends, and potential business models to drive growth.
- Collaborate with the executive team to shape overall strategic objectives.
- Partnerships & Alliances
- Forge and manage strategic partnerships with financial institutions, technology providers, and other stakeholders in the fintech ecosystem.
- Identify and negotiate joint ventures, mergers, and acquisitions to expand the company's market presence.
- Revenue Generation & Sales Leadership
- Develop and oversee revenue-generation initiatives, ensuring the achievement of financial targets.
- Lead the sales and marketing teams to effectively position and promote the company’s products and services.
- Market Expansion
- Lead expansion efforts into new markets, overseeing the development of market entry strategies.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and position the company as a market leader.
- Team Leadership
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing business development team.
- Establish performance metrics and provide guidance to support team development and accountability.
- Brand & Product Development
- Collaborate with product development and marketing to align offerings with market needs.
- Contribute to brand positioning and promote a compelling value proposition for the company's products.
- Stakeholder Management
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including investors, board members, and key clients.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and other networking opportunities.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; an MBA or relevant postgraduate degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships, ideally within fintech, banking, or technology sectors.
- Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth and forming impactful partnerships.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and scaling teams.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic business plans and execute with precision.
- Knowledge of the fintech industry and an understanding of financial regulations and emerging trends.
