Job Summary

The COO will oversee the day-to-day operational functions of our client’s dredging company, ensuring smooth coordination between projects in Port Harcourt, Aba, and other locations. The COO will work closely with the CEO to develop and implement business strategies, improve operational efficiency, and ensure successful execution.

Job Description/Requirements

  • Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage all operational activities related to dredging projects, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies in alignment with company goals.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure smooth execution of dredging operations and address any project challenges.
  • Monitor project performance, budget adherence, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Drive continuous process improvement to enhance productivity and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and support the operational teams across various project sites.
  • Collaborate with other executives and department heads to develop business plans, set goals, and ensure alignment across all functions.
  • Liaise with government agencies, contractors, and key stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and project approvals.
  • Prepare regular operational reports and present them to the CEO and board of directors.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably within the dredging, construction, or marine industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multi-site teams and projects.
  • Excellent understanding of dredging operations, project management, and safety regulations.
  • Proven track record of driving operational efficiency and achieving business goals.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
