We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chief Operations Officer (COO) to lead our operations and ensure the effective delivery of our strategic objectives. Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring seamless coordination across departments.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives
  • Lead program planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Facilitate effective community engagement and stakeholder collaboration at the grassroots level.
  • Identify and drive fundraising strategies and donor engagement.
  • Supervise financial and administrative functions, promoting optimal resource utilization.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases for internal use, reporting, and external communication.
  • Support the leadership team in long-term planning, risk management, and organizational development.
  • Facilitate capacity-building initiatives for staff and stakeholders.


Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Administration, Human Relations, Public Health, or other relevant disciplines. A postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in nonprofit administration, program management, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in project implementation, monitoring, reporting, and team coordination.
  • Interest in areas such as maternal and child health, special education, or disability inclusion is highly desirable
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and at least one local language.
  • Proficient use of MS Office tools (Word and PowerPoint)
  • Sound knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and compliance.
  • Experience in grant writing and donor communication.
  • Understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) frameworks and impact assessment.
  • Leadership capabilities with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Familiarity with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their application in development work.
  • Innovative, strategic thinker with problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Passionate about working with marginalized communities and advancing child health and rights.
