Role Description

This is a remote internship role for a Cisco Network Engineer at Shea's Tech. The Cisco Network Engineer will be responsible for network administration, network engineering, troubleshooting, network security, YouTube videos, GitLab networking documentation, diagrams and networking tasks on a day-to-day basis.

Qualifications

• Network Administration, Network Engineering, and Troubleshooting skills
• Network Security knowledge
• Experience in Networking
• Experience working remotely
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and remotely
• You must have an active and verifiable Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
• Reputable Certificate or College Degree in Information Technology or other related field
• Must know how to work autonoumously with minimal management and oversight
• Self-starter who is responsible and does not need to be managed
• Must have experience with Linux (i.e. Rocky Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Ubuntu Only)

Responsibilities

• Creation of YouTube videos for upload to main YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/@sheastech)
• Creation of simulation and virtual labs
• Teaching students through our Cisco Networking Academy Organization
• Teaching students through official CompTIA Network+ courseware
• Documentation on labs through Shea's Tech School GitHub page
• Networking Diagrams
• Collaboration with fellow colleagues to create secure labs for simulations through VULTR or GCP
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Routers and Cisco Switches (Not other companies)

Nice to Have

• Google Cloud Platform experience
• AWS experience
• GIthub experience
• Understanding of Open Source and Community Driven Initiatives
• OnlyOffice experience
• Diagramming experience (e.g. Lucidchart or similar)
• Daily work on a bare metal Linux Desktop or Laptop (e.g. Ubuntu, Rocky Linux or Red Hat Enterprise Linux)

Pay

• Monthly internship salary will be determined based upon an active certification

• Maximum: ₦40,000 per month during internship

Core Schedule

• Saturdays
• Sundays
• As needed meetings through Discord, WebEx, Google Meet or WhatsApp
