Civil Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, and oversee the construction of infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, buildings, water supply systems, and other civil structures.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine the best approach to engineering challenges.
• Prepare detailed designs, specifications, and construction drawings while ensuring compliance with applicable engineering codes and standards.
• Estimate project costs, timelines, and resources required to achieve project objectives.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
• Ensure that all projects adhere to environmental regulations, safety standards, and sustainable engineering practices.
• Manage project documentation, including reports, schedules, and budget records, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
• Oversee and inspect project sites to ensure construction is aligned with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and resolve any technical issues or discrepancies on-site.
• Perform risk assessments and enforce health and safety policies and regulations on all project sites.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, with proven experience in infrastructure projects, design, and construction management.
• Registered member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD Pro, etc.) and MS Office Suite.
• Experience managing project timelines, budgets, and resources efficiently.
• Ability to analyze complex problems, develop solutions, and make sound engineering judgments.
• Keen eye for design accuracy, technical quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in dynamic environments and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to spend extended periods on construction sites as required.
