The Opportunity

Location: Remote

Experience: 1-3 years of experience

Role: Contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Writing 90 to 100 articles per month (news, trends, etc.) (usually 4 to 5 articles per day)
• Reviewing content for factual accuracy and general accuracy of grammar and context; ensuring that content is written as per Sportskeeda’s guidelines & checking spelling, grammar & scope of the text with the editorial team
• Supporting the content team from a strategy perspective - sharing new ideas, content styles, topics, etc.
• Working with the Content Manager and Assistant Content Manager(s) to improve content writing processes, increase the quality of content on the site, etc.
• Track topics around the NBA, and pitch story ideas and assist the vertical lead with content strategy/plan for events.
• Stay updated with the latest news and developments around the NBA and College Basketball.

Requirements

• Only candidates with a minimum of 1 year of experience covering/writing about basketball in the US (NBA, NCAA, etc.) should apply.
• Staying updated with recent developments in and around the NBA
• Excellent command of the English language (US) is a must.
• Should have a knack for crisp sentence composition, grammar, and syntax.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently
• Up-to-date knowledge of recent developments in the NBA and College Basketball—teams, players, and major events is a plus.
• Understanding of social media and Social Media Trends is a Plus
