Job Description/Requirements
- Profitability analysis: Evaluate and report on product profitability, share recommendations for decision-making
- Cost-benefit analysis: Prepare CBA for commercial activities to aid decision-making.
- Competitive analysis: Source, analyse and report on market data, trends and competitor activity
- Revenue growth: Implement VPM (Volume Price Mix) analysis and revenue growth initiatives to drive revenue optimization. Monitor and report on revenue/margin trends
- Promotion evaluation: Carry out pre- and post-promo evaluation, report on data analysed, insights from the commercial team and promo visits
- Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with production, supply chain, commercial, finance and rest of the business for good business understanding to aid analysis and recommendations
- Trade visits: Routinely go on trade visits, get insights on customers, consumers, products, competition and other relevant information to aid decision-making
- Cost optimisation: Drive implementation of cost optimisation programs in commercial function
- Budget management: Prepare a commercial annual plan, monitor and routinely report on spend vs budget, and ensure spending within the budget
- Other tasks relevant to the role or as assigned.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree.
- Strong experience in profitability analysis, with the ability to evaluate and report on product profitability and provide strategic recommendations.
- Expertise in cost-benefit analysis (CBA) to support commercial decision-making.
- Ability to conduct in-depth competitive analysis, including sourcing, analyzing, and reporting on market trends and competitor activities.
- Experience in revenue growth optimization, including implementing Volume Price Mix (VPM) analysis and tracking revenue/margin trends.
- Proven ability to evaluate promotional activities through pre- and post-promotion analysis and provide insights from commercial team inputs and trade visits.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, working effectively with production, supply chain, commercial, finance, and other departments to support business objectives.
- Willingness to conduct routine trade visits to gather insights on customers, consumers, products, competition, and market trends.
- Experience in driving cost optimization initiatives within the commercial function.
- Proficiency in budget management, including preparing annual commercial plans, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring alignment with budget constraints.
