Job Summary

This role is for people who are not easily brain-tired, are numbers-driven, and are result-oriented. There is a 70-day (2 months and 10 days) probationary period attached to this role. This role requires a lot of reading and an in-depth understanding of key ideas, and visions. A portfolio is also required to proceed to the first and second stages of the interview. Overarchingly, this role requires savviness in social and digital media analytics and editing (long-form and short-form videos). Key performance indicators are set and used to assess performance after the probationary period and other milestones achieved

Job Description/Requirements

Roles:

  • Edit and extract shorts and reels from long-form videos.
  • To attract partners, investors, and collaborators, give a professional facelift to the Apple Podcast, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube pages.
  • Ensure an increase in growth, visibility, and followership for all social and digital media channels, prioritizing YouTube (to ensure monetization).
  • Develop and execute a social media strategy with an in-demand sense of creativity and market benchmarking.
  • Create written and visual content for various social media platforms, and manage a content calendar.
  • Must have a high sense of integrity in managing company equipment and churning out work.
  • Develop and implement a social media strategy that consistently engages the public (this involves working alongside different recurring team members).
  • Plan, guide, and ensure the execution of social media campaigns, including ad design (work with in-house graphic designer) and responding to real-time comments.
  • Monitor and analyze social media performance metrics, such as reach, engagement, and conversions, to determine which content is performing well and what could be improved
  • Build and moderate social media communities by responding to comments and keeping members engaged.
  • Build relationships with social media influencers, clients, and strategic partners.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and collaborators using emails, strategies, and presentations.
  • Know online marketing channels and social media management tools or be willing to learn.
  • Analyzing the company’s digital marketing plan and social media strategy identifying strategic weaknesses and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Researching social media trends and informing management of changes that are relevant to the company’s marketing activities.
  •  Willingness to learn and apply tricks of the trade via free platforms that will be provided to you like Coursera and Udemy.
  • Ensure timely and agreed-upon posts with the highest form of integrity.
  • Practice best in-class etiquettes.
  • Keep a positive attitude, and energy, and be willing to learn and relearn.
  • Must utilize our book of business via Google Contacts to establish and maintain business correspondence and rapport.


Responsibilities: 

YouTube:

YouTube is the bedrock for this role, not only is it the golden child, but it must be managed like the golden untouchable child.

  • Creatively follow editing patterns and edit long-form videos for YouTube (must know how to use sound editing tools to edit videos)
  • Create shorts from long-form videos to increase engagement.
  • Use analytics to monitor viewer retention to give reports at weekly check-ins using Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides.
  • Master and monitor upload patterns to ensure consistency.
  • Monitor trendy topics that can contribute to the channel’s visibility.
  • Must understand how to use Canva or other free online editing tools


Facebook:

Facebook needs to relocate members to the YouTube channel - in that, you use Facebook as an organic marketing tool to ensure that viewers land on the YouTube page or per that episode.

  • Create content for the Facebook-style audience via monitoring.
  • Preschedule/schedule posts for the Facebook profile and Facebook page.
  • Via understanding the audience, upload the content that will benefit the audience.
  • Respond to messages and general inquiries on Facebook.
  • Engage the audience respectfully, and professionally.


Instagram:

Instagram is the fun-happy place for Migration Gist - our audience here loves to know about travel, travel agencies, and everything fun about travel or relocation.

  • Wishing our countries a happy Independence Day (the umbrella name for our independence segment)
  • Give the page a facelift to look professional yet fun and colorful to attract partners and investors.
  • Understand the unique posting proposition of the Instagram page.
  • Advise on using trending sounds to post relatable videos.
  • You are effectively using Reels.


TikTok:

What do you think of when you think of TikTok? Learning trendy topics and dances - if Instagram is fun, TikTok is more fun but we do not want to flail in the wind, we want to use Migration Gist voice notes to populate the TikTok space to have people mimic us and attract other audiences.

  • Learn, understand, implement, and execute learnings on TikTok and TikTok algorithms
  • Advise on the key strategies to adopt and implement
  • Be conversant with TikTok and utilize its key learnings.
  • Other duties as may be required.


X (formerly known as Twitter):

Migration Gist is a talk brand - this means that we love conversations. X (fka Twitter) is the text space for our written conversations with our audience; so next to YouTube, Twitter is a second golden child in line with Instagram. We need to engage in those threads with our Followers.

  • Bi-weekly grass to grace or grace to grass thread stories.
  • Twitting daily actual information that could aid migrants (existing and intending).
  • Connect with Twitter lovers while monitoring and engaging people in our community.
  • Keep it positive always.
  • Leading users to YouTube channel.


Apple Podcast:

We wish to give our podcast a super professional life; we do not want it to be a regurgitation of all our YouTube content where the only thing that separates them is video/audio.

  • Fine-tune edits to fit the Apple Podcast style
  • Learn how Podcasting works to help grow listenership that can attract partners and marketers
  • Build timely posts like all five digital genres mentioned above.


Requirements:

  • A Bachelors Degree is required for this role.
  • Should be adept with using and understanding the use of social and digital media tools
  • Creativity is golden
  • Must know how to utilize a myriad of editing tools


Remuneration: NGN 175,000 Monthly (benefits are prorated after 12 months).

N.B: As a Digital Media Manager for St. Alolo LLC’s Migration Gist arm, your roles and responsibilities are all-encompassing and fast-changing. Staying ahead of trends will be a plus for this position.
