Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and manage bone, joint, and soft tissue disorders, including fractures, dislocations,  arthritis, and congenital deformities. 
• Perform elective and emergency orthopedic procedures  
• Supervise preoperative assessment and postoperative recovery of orthopedic patients.
• Coordinate orthopedic trauma management in collaboration with emergency and anesthesia teams. 
• Order and interpret relevant imaging to guide clinical decision-making. 
• Provide non-operative management when appropriate, including casting, bracing, and physical rehabilitation plans. 
• Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation in line with MDCN standards.
• Participate in surgical audits, case reviews, and continuous quality improvement initiatives

Requirements:

• Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCS – Orthopaedics)  and/or West African College of Surgeons (FWACS – Orthopaedics). 
• Valid Annual Practicing License with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
• Minimum of 3 years post-fellowship experience in orthopedic surgery. 
• Member of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA).
