Role Description

This is a part-time role as a Contributor at AfroVibes Media. As a Contributing Writer, you will be responsible for writing engaging and informative stories about African businesses and entertainers, conducting interviews, and attending events. This particular Contributor will write 1-2 daily aggregated stories about African businesses and entertainers, while also pitching and reporting original stories when appropriate. The writer will need to be quick to write about daily trending stories as information becomes available. This is a remote position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or related field
• 2-3 years of experience in content writing
• Strong writing and storytelling skills
• Ability to write quickly and accurately, free of plagiarism
• Knowledgable and up-to-date on African business and entertainment (music) landscape
• Research skills and attentive to detail
• Ability to conduct interviews and attend events when needed
• Experience with content creation and publishing
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well on a team
