COREN Registered Senior Civil Engineer

Responsibilities:

Project Management:

• Lead and manage civil engineering projects from inception through to completion, ensuring all project milestones are met on time and within budget.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resources.
• Monitor project progress, adjust timelines, and resolve any issues that arise.

Design and Planning:

• Prepare and review detailed civil engineering designs for infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, drainage systems, and utilities.
• Ensure designs meet all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Conduct feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, and risk analysis.
• Review technical drawings and blueprints and provide recommendations for improvements.

Technical Expertise:

• Provide expert advice on civil engineering concepts, methods, and practices.
• Use industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or similar) to produce designs, plans, and technical specifications.
• Oversee site inspections and construction processes to ensure the quality and safety of the work.
• Ensure all work is compliant with safety and environmental standards.

Mentoring and Leadership:

• Mentor and train junior engineers and other team members, providing guidance and feedback to enhance their technical skills.
• Supervise the work of junior engineers, ensuring high-quality deliverables and compliance with standards.
• Provide leadership and direction to project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Quality Control and Risk Management:

• Ensure that all engineering work is performed in accordance with company quality standards and best practices
• Identify potential risks related to the project, implement mitigation strategies, and maintain a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor the quality of work and address any concerns.

Communication and Reporting:

• Regularly report on project status, including progress, risks, and key issues, to senior management and stakeholders.
• Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
• Attend project meetings, providing expert opinions and feedback on engineering matter
• Performing all quality functions relating to the role in accordance with the organization’s QMS

Requirements:

• Must be COREN registered
• 6 years experience
• Degree in a related field
