Customs Affairs Executive

Responsibilities:

• Good relations with airport and seaport officials
• Responsible for the business and activities related to the regulation and control of goods entering and leaving a country
• Prepare and submit required customs documentation for imports and exports.
• Ensure compliance with local and international customs laws and regulations.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping companies, and suppliers to facilitate smooth operations.
• Calculate and pay customs duties, taxes, and other applicable fees.
• Address and resolve any customs-related delays or issues.
• Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and inform relevant departments.
• Maintain accurate records of all customs transactions.
• Collaborate with internal departments to meet shipping, import, and export requirements.
• Assist in customs audits and inspections as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in customs clearance, freight forwarding, or trade compliance.
• Strong knowledge of import/export procedures, customs laws, and HS tariff classification.
• Familiarity with customs declaration software and trade compliance systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Familiar with Nigeria's import and export customs clearance rules
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to liaise with regulatory authorities and logistics partners.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
