Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Ensure smooth operation of the hotel during the day shift, including overseeing room availability, reservations, and guest needs.
- Coordinate housekeeping and maintenance activities to ensure rooms and public areas are clean and in good repair.
- Monitor inventory and ensure supplies are adequately stocked (e.g., linens, toiletries).
- Assist with cash handling, billing, and checking accounts.
- Track daily revenue and occupancy reports, addressing any discrepancies.
- Review guest feedback and ensure follow-up actions are taken.
- Serve as a liaison between the hotel management team and other departments (e.g., housekeeping, kitchen, maintenance) to ensure seamless service.
- Maintain open communication with the night manager or overnight staff to ensure smooth transitions between shifts.
- Ensure the hotel is compliant with health, safety, and security regulations.
- Oversee the safety of the property and guests, ensuring emergency procedures are in place and staff are trained.
- Support marketing and promotional efforts by assisting with guest inquiries, offering up-sell opportunities, and promoting hotel service
- Help coordinate any special events or meetings scheduled for the day.
- Ensure guests are greeted warmly and assisted with any inquiries or requests.
- Handle guest complaints and issues, resolving them promptly and professionally.
- Oversee the check-in/check-out process to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage and supervise day-shift hotel staff, including front desk employees, housekeeping, and maintenance teams.
- Ensure all staff are adhering to company policies and delivering high-quality customer service.
- Provide training, support, and motivation to staff as needed.
Requirements:
- Ensuring high standards of cleanliness, service, and guest care.
- Proficiency in hotel management software, point-of-sale systems, and basic office tools.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is often required; a degree in Hospitality Management is a plus.
- Experience in hotel or customer service roles, typically with 2-3 years of prior experience in hospitality management or a similar position.
- Ability to lead and manage a team, fostering a positive work environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Quick thinking and the ability to resolve issues effectively and professionally.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities during peak times.
Work Environment:
- Day Managers typically work during the daytime shift, but flexibility may be required for special events or busy periods.
- The role requires a combination of desk work, walking the property, and interacting with guests and staff.
Remuneration: NGN 200,000 - 250,000
