Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Design Tutor at Afrixta. The Design Tutor will be responsible for conducting design tutorials, providing mentorship to students, evaluating student projects, and creating engaging and innovative design curriculum.

Note: You only have to be proficient in a design field and not all!

1. Industrial Design (Furniture, Product, Spatial)

2. Graphic Design (Visual Communications, Branding)

3. UI/UX Design (User Experience, User Interface)

4. Brand Identity Design

5. Digital Illustration

6. Product Design

7. Web Design

Qualifications

• Proficiency in design software (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, Coreldraw)
• Experience in teaching or mentoring design students
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of design principles and trends
• Ability to work independently and remotely
• Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, or related field
• Experience in the African design industry is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field
• Proficiency in CAD software
• Strong understanding of design principles, ergonomics, and human-centered design
• Excellent rendering and visualization skills
• Portfolio showcasing product design and rendering expertise

Responsibilities:

- Teach design principles, theories, and best practices

- Develop engaging curricula and course materials

- Provide constructive feedback and guidance

- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving

- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve departmental goals

- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging design technologies

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Design or related field

- Proven teaching experience (minimum 2 years)

- Strong portfolio showcasing design expertise

- Proficiency in design software relevant to your specialty

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

- Master's degree in Design or related field

- Industry certifications (e.g., Adobe Certified Expert)

- Experience with design software (Sketch, Figma, SolidWorks)

- Familiarity with design thinking methodologies

- Online teaching experience

Salary: 100k to 200k (Depending on experience and expertise)
