Director, Engineering

The Director of Engineering for LNG and CNG Projects across Nigeria will lead the engineering team responsible for the design, engineering, erecting, commissioning and maintaining of LNG/CNG dispensing facilities and coordinate the engineering of additional LNG liquefaction plant facilities. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background, capable of managing multiple projects and ensuring compliance with the industry standards. Collaboration with the Supply Chain department and process specialists is key while knowledge of all engineering disciplines such as civil, mechanical, electrical to achieve complete integrated scopes is required.

• Leadership: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Project Management: Oversee the engineering aspects of LNG projects from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budgets.
• Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support in the design and implementation of LNG and CNG systems, including storage, processing, and transportation.
• Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and construction, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with projects, ensuring a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Budget Management: Develop and manage engineering budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality and safety.
• Continuous Improvement: Promote and implement engineering best practices and innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
  
  

Qualifications

• Education: Masters degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical). Financial acumen to provide budgeting and cashflow management capabilities.
• Experience: Minimum 20 years of experience in engineering management, specifically within the LNG or oil & gas sector. Proven track record in leading large-scale projects on the front-end.
• Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of LNG processes, equipment, and technologies. Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. Experience with Microsoft Project or Gantt charting software.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to cooperate within levels of the organization.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
• Certifications: Relevant engineering certifications (e.g. PMP) are preferred.
