Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Driver Operations & Fleet Manager with a background in engineering to oversee our team of drivers and manage our fleet operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient day-to-day coordination of drivers, optimizing vehicle performance, and implementing engineering-driven maintenance strategies that extend the lifecycle of our fleet. This role requires a proactive leader with strong problem-solving skills, operational expertise, and technical knowledge of vehicles and machinery.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Driver & Operations Management:
- Supervise, schedule, and manage a team of drivers to ensure timely and efficient operations.
- Monitor driver performance, enforce company policies, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Implement driver training programs focused on safety, efficiency, and customer service.
- Maintain compliance with local and federal transportation regulations.
Fleet & Maintenance Management:
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing schedules of all company vehicles.
- Apply engineering knowledge to diagnose technical issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Coordinate with service providers and mechanics to ensure timely repairs and minimal downtime.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize fleet efficiency and longevity.
- Maintain accurate records for vehicle inspections, registrations, insurance, and licenses.
Logistics & Optimization:
- Plan and optimize routes for efficiency, fuel management, and timely deliveries.
- Monitor GPS tracking systems and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Analyze operational data to improve logistics, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, driver activities, and operational metrics.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and traffic policies.
- Manage budgets related to transportation, maintenance, and fuel.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in fleet management, driver coordination, or a related field.
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems, maintenance, and repair.
- Proven experience managing teams, preferably drivers or logistics personnel.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
- Understanding of safety regulations, compliance requirements, and transportation laws.
- Ability to work under pressure and solve complex logistical or technical issues.
