Seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our team. The ECE will be responsible for creating a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for children 0-5 years. Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Planning & Implementation:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with play-based early learning frameworks
- Foster learning through play, incorporating storytelling, music, movement, and hands-on activities.
- Integrate STEM, literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning into daily routines.
- Use observation and assessment tools to track children’s development and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
Child Supervision & Engagement
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Observe, guide, and support children’s self-regulation, executive functioning, and early brain development.
- Foster a sense of belonging, respect, and cultural competence, valuing diversity in the classroom.
- Encourage independence, problem-solving, and collaboration among children.
Health, Safety, and Well-being:
- Ensure constant supervision and maintain ratios as required by regulation.
- Implement health and safety protocols, including handwashing, sanitization, and emergency procedures.
- Administer first aid when necessary and report incidents according to policies.
- Support children's emotional well-being by modeling and teaching positive behavior strategies.
Parent & Family Engagement:
- Maintain open communication with families regarding children’s progress, challenges, and milestones.
- Conduct parent-teacher meetings and provide developmental updates.
- Encourage family involvement in learning activities and centre events.
Documentation & Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, progress, and assessments.
- Document daily observations and share reports with the team and families.
- Adhere to all licensing and regulatory requirements for early learning programs.
Professional Development & Team Collaboration:
- Participate in ongoing professional development, training, and team meetings.
- Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and administrators to enhance learning outcomes.
- Stay up to date with ECE research, best practices, and child development theories.
