Eco Gov Reporter - Nigeria
Abuja

Nigeria is at a tipping point. The new government has scrapped expensive fuel subsidies and announced plans to overhaul a foreign-exchange regime that's hindered overseas investment, revive the nation's decrepit electricity grid and address its $148 billion public debt burden. The reforms, if implemented, have the potential to bring Africa's biggest economy back from the brink and yield new opportunities for investors.
Bloomberg News is looking for a reporter who can pull all of these themes together and write confidently for a global audience about the struggles and triumphs of the continent’s most populous nation.
The ideal candidate will drive our coverage of the Nigerian government's economic policies, both by breaking news and doing deep-dive enterprise pieces. You will have a solid network of sources and outstanding news judgment, thrive in a real-time news environment, and stay ahead of the competition in covering the $441 billion economy.
You will be expected to stay on top of fiscal and monetary policy announcements and report on their implications for fixed-income, currency and equity-market investors. You'll have a collaborative attitude and embrace an all-hands-on-deck approach to cover a broad range of topics. You'll need to explore the best ways to tell a story, be it through a long-form article, a chart or a video package.
We'll trust you to:
