Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Nigeria
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a solid background in on-site electrical engineering for large-scale residential, commercial, or medical facility projects. The ideal candidate will have eight to ten years of hands-on experience and a proven track record working in complex environments, particularly with low-voltage and extra-low voltage systems. This role requires comprehensive expertise in the design, shop drawing, site supervision, and installation of a range of electrical systems, as well as the ability to manage distribution boards, power diagrams, and communicate effectively with consultants on project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
§ Lead the design, installation, and supervision of low-voltage and extra-low voltage electrical systems including lighting, power, access control, nurse call systems, CCTV, and public address systems.
§ Develop and oversee power diagrams, distribution boards, and ensure proper configuration of DBs and other electrical distribution systems.
§ Prepare and review detailed design and shop drawings for project execution, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulatory standards.
§ Conduct site inspections to supervise installation, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical guidance to on-site teams.
§ Communicate and collaborate effectively with consultants, addressing project requirements and ensuring alignment with project standards and expectations.
§ Prepare and submit technical documentation, submittals, valuations, and other project-related paperwork to consultants and project stakeholders.
§ Coordinate with project stakeholders, including contractors and project managers, to ensure timely and accurate implementation of electrical systems.
§ Maintain quality control and adherence to safety standards across all phases of the project lifecycle.
§ Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation of design modifications, site reports, and system installations.
Qualifications and Skills:
§ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
§ Ability to effectively communicate in English
§ 8-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on on-site work for large-scale residential, commercial, or healthcare projects.
§ Extensive knowledge of low-voltage and extra-low voltage systems, especially in lighting, power, access control, nurse call, CCTV, and public address systems.
§ Proficiency in design and interpretation of power diagrams, distribution boards, and other electrical distribution elements.
§ Demonstrated experience in preparing design and shop drawings, as well as overseeing site supervision and installations.
§ Strong ability to communicate and coordinate with consultants, preparing submittals, valuations, and relevant project documentation.
§ Excellent problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and resolving issues on-site.
§ Strong communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively with cross-functional project teams.
