Electrician

Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including wiring, circuit breakers, outlets, fixtures, and other electrical components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical codes to understand electrical layouts and determine the best installation process.
• Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as multimeters, voltmeters, and other testing devices to ensure the proper functioning of systems.
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
• Ensure all electrical work is in compliance with national and local building and electrical codes.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
• Test electrical systems to ensure continuity of circuits and electrical compatibility and safety.
• Install and connect light fixtures, switches, outlets, and other electrical controls.
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
• Collaborate with contractors, construction workers, and other professionals to ensure safe and efficient electrical installations.
• Respond to emergency electrical issues and perform troubleshooting as required.
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety standards and procedures.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical school or apprenticeship program is preferred.
• Valid electrician's license or certification (as required by local/state regulations).
• Proven experience as an electrician or in a similar role.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and components.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to electrical work.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
• Proficiency in using electrical tools and equipment, such as wire strippers, multimeters, and conduit benders.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good physical condition, with the ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

• Work may be performed indoors or outdoors, depending on the job requirements.
• May involve exposure to adverse weather conditions, noise, and potential electrical hazards.
• Requires physical stamina, including standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects.
• May require travel to various job sites and working on-call as needed.
