Job Summary

The Electrical Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating all electrical installation, maintenance, and repair activities on construction or industrial project sites. This role ensures that electrical systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, electrical codes, and safety standards.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage the daily activities of electricians and electrical helpers.
  • Review electrical plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to plan and assign work.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, control systems, and grounding.
  • Ensure that all work is done in compliance with national and local electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with other trades and project supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and avoid delays.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets specifications and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide technical guidance to the team.
  • Maintain daily work logs, progress reports, and documentation.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, materials, and safety equipment.
  • Train and mentor junior staff and ensure adherence to safety practices.


Requirements:

  • Diploma or technical certification in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of electrical experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and power distribution.
  • Proficient in reading electrical blueprints, one-line diagrams, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with NEC, IEC, or other relevant electrical codes.
  • Excellent leadership, planning, and communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve on-site problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Good understanding of health and safety standards in electrical work environments.
  • Must have pre-commissioning experience


Working Conditions:

  • Work typically performed on construction sites, industrial facilities, or commercial buildings.
  • Exposure to high voltage, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions.
  • Requires use of PPE and strict adherence to safety protocols.
  • May involve extended hours, weekend work, or shift rotations based on project demands.
