Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons that align with the IGCSE English Language curriculum objectives and standards.
- Prepare comprehensive lesson plans, instructional materials, and resources to support effective teaching and learning.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, participation, and mutual respect.
- Administer regular assessments, provide constructive feedback, and evaluate student progress to inform instructional planning and student support.
- Adapt teaching strategies and differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, ensuring all students are appropriately challenged and supported.
- Familiarize students with the IGCSE English Language examination format, provide targeted exam preparation strategies, and administer mock exams to build confidence and readiness.
- Offer individualized support and guidance to students, addressing their academic and emotional needs, and fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents or guardians, providing regular updates on student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance teaching practices, stay updated with curriculum changes, and contribute to the overall improvement of the department.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, school events, and professional collaboration, contributing to the overall development and growth of the school community.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field. A postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
- Teaching certification or qualification, such as a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) or equivalent, specializing in English Language.
- Extensive knowledge of the IGCSE English Language curriculum, including the assessment criteria and examination requirements.
- Proven experience teaching IGCSE English Language or a similar international curriculum, preferably with a successful track record of student achievement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines effectively.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the individual learning needs of students.
