Job Title: Enterprise Development Officer (EDO)
Reports To:
- Program Manager (PM) for daily activities and program implementation.
- Senior Program Manager (SPM) for strategic decisions and high-level oversight.
- Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Lead for data collection, reporting, and impact assessment.
Job Summary:
The Enterprise Development Officer (EDO) will play a pivotal role in the successful implementation of the Enterprise Advancement and Support Training Program. The EDO will be responsible for coordinating program activities, providing hands-on support to women-owned enterprises, and ensuring the program achieves its objectives of business growth, job creation, and sustainability. The EDO will work closely with program participants, volunteer experts, and stakeholders to deliver tailored interventions and drive measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Needs Assessment and Program Design
- Conduct pre-launch needs assessment surveys and interviews to identify gaps and challenges faced by enterprises (e.g., strategic planning, access to finance, branding).
- Analyse survey results and prioritize gaps to inform program design and interventions.
- Collaborate with the Program Design Consultant to develop tailored interventions based on identified needs.
2. Program Mobilization and Recruitment
- Lead outreach efforts to recruit women-owned enterprises, particularly in creative industries and supported economies (e.g., digital marketing, fashion, arts).
- Collaborate with the Communications Unit to develop and distribute marketing materials.
- Register participants and ensure they meet the program criteria (e.g., women-owned, early-stage businesses).
- Provide information to participants about program expectations, timelines, and benefits.
3. Program Implementation
- Coordinate and deliver training sessions for the 12-day program (6 physical + 6 virtual sessions).
- Moderate group coaching and mentoring sessions, connecting participants with volunteer experts in finance, marketing, and business strategy.
- Support participants in accessing the N10m FCMB loan and other funding opportunities.
- Organize finance clinics and grant workshops to help participants develop pitch decks and apply for grants.
- Provide guidance and support to participants in registering their businesses with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), SMEDAN and complying with legal requirements.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation
- Collect baseline data on participant enterprises, including staff numbers, financial positions, and business registration status.
- Prepare impact reports for the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Lead and Senior Program Manager.
5. Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with program collaborators (e.g., NGOs, FCMB) to ensure smooth implementation and resource allocation.
- Maintain regular communication with partners to address any issues and ensure alignment with program goals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for participants, addressing their questions and concerns throughout the program.
6. Business Development Support
- Assist participants in accessing new markets through TALPX mini-exhibitions and digital marketing support.
- Support Relationship Managers (RMs) in the strategy and delivery of Business Development Sessions for individuals Training Program for designated state.
- Encourage participants to adopt sustainable business practices and integrate social impact into their operations.
- Provide ongoing mentorship and support to participants post-program to ensure sustained business growth.
7. Reporting and Documentation
- Document program activities, participant progress, and outcomes in regular reports for the Program Manager and Senior Program Manager.
- Maintain detailed records of participant data, training materials, and program resources for future reference and evaluation.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in enterprise development, business coaching, or a similar role. Experience working with women-owned businesses or in creative industries is highly desirable.
- Certifications: Certifications in project management, business coaching, or entrepreneurship are an advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with participants, stakeholders, and team members.
- Project Management: Experience in coordinating complex programs with multiple stakeholders.
- Business Acumen: Understanding of business development, finance, and legal compliance.
- Networking Skills: Ability to build and maintain relationships with partners, participants, and volunteers.
- Digital Literacy: Familiarity with virtual platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and digital marketing tools.
- Resilience and Adaptability: Ability to navigate challenges and adapt to changing program needs.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting is a plus.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Participant Satisfaction: Measured through post-program surveys and feedback.
- Business Growth: Increase in participant revenue, staff numbers, and market access.
- Program Impact: Number of new hires, businesses formalized, and grants/loans accessed by participants.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Successful collaboration with program partners and stakeholders.
Work Environment:
- The EDO will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, requiring both remote and on-site activities.
- Travel may be required to conduct training sessions, attend meetings, and visit participant businesses.
