Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Director (ED) to lead the execution of its strategic vision, particularly its newly launched 5-year plan. The ED will oversee the organization's overall operations, drive program effectiveness, ensure stakeholder engagement, and manage internal and external resources efficiently. This role is crucial to driving impact in Nigeria’s enterprise development ecosystem and supporting thousands of entrepreneurs through innovative and sustainable solutions.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of the 5-year strategic plan in alignment with the organization’s mission and board directives.
  • Develop and review organizational strategies and cascade them across all departments.
  • Champion the formulation of internal policies and present them for Board approval.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of initiatives across core areas including the Academy, CSR, Institute, and other programs.
  • Monitor program performance against agreed KPIs and conduct regular impact assessments.
  • Ensure all projects align with strategic goals and are effectively evaluated.
  • Lead resource mobilization and grant-seeking activities.
  • Establish partnerships with local and international stakeholders.
  • Ensure financial sustainability by aligning resources to strategic objectives.
  • Team Leadership and Operations Management
  • Lead and manage a team of 40+ staff and over 1,200 volunteers.
  • Ensure effective recruitment and team development processes.
  • Supervise the organization’s day-to-day operations for efficient service delivery.
  • Build strong partnerships with government agencies, development partners, donors, and the private sector.
  • Represent the organization at public forums to uphold its brand and mission.
  • Advocate for policies that support small and growing businesses (SGBs).
  • Ensure strong financial governance and budgetary controls.
  • Authorize expenditures in line with strategic priorities and reporting standards.
  • Provide financial reports and insights to the Board regularly.
  • Set targets and work plans for teams in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide developmental feedback.
  • Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Lead continuous improvement in operational efficiency and effectiveness


Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (required).
  • A Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration (MBA), Social Sciences, or a related field (required).
  • Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years in a senior/executive management role.
  • Proven track record in leading social impact or nonprofit programs.
