Job Summary

Kitchen Assistants/Cooks prepare meals and food items according to recipes created by the company or establishment by which they are employed. They perform all duties necessary to ensure that a meal is properly prepared and presented within a specified timeframe.

  • Minimum Qualification : High School (S.S.C.E)
  • Experience Level : Entry level
  • Experience Length : 1 year

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Assist in preparing and assembling ingredients for meals, including dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and ensuring proper storage of ingredients.
  • Stock Management: Help with inventory control by monitoring stock levels, receiving deliveries, chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and assembling dishes according to recipes and chef instructions.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, including washing and organizing supplies.
  • Assisting Chefs: Support chefs and cooks with various tasks as needed, including setting up stations and handling special requests.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with health regulations and company policies.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment, Sound knowledge of cooking methods and techniques. Proven experience working as a Cook.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen equipment. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. Team player with good communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and work in a hot and noisy environment.
  • High school Diploma.
  • The ability to follow recipes and work in a team.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Must participate in training on good work ethics, good customer service, and communication skills. Training is 4 - 6 Weeks (Course work and Internship)
